Try this: ask yourself whether “wanting to seem capable” fully explains it, or whether something about the specific situation (the people, the stakes, past experience) also shaped it. Write one sentence that complicates your first explanation.
The tutor questions, diagnoses and teaches, but never writes your experience, feelings, insight or learning. That boundary is the whole point.
