Release history
Changelog
Version history for the site package, prompt-library suite and testing/audit pack.
v4.4.1 — Site entry-route and download guidance refresh
Site package: v4.4.1
Prompt libraries: v4.4.1
Testing/audit pack: v4.4.1
This minor release refreshes student-facing site copy without changing tutor behaviour. It promotes Try It as the quickest route, reframes the no-ghost-writing boundary as “your work stays yours,” keeps tool codes visible as stable handles while making tool names lead, and adds download guidance based on whether the user’s AI setup handles long prompts reliably.
v4.4.0 — In-tool help system and EAL mode
Site package: v4.4.0
Prompt libraries: v4.4.0
Testing/audit pack: v4.4.0
This release adds a shared in-tool help system to the prompt libraries. Full-review tools now advertise help after outputs, tiered-review tools keep help distinct from expand, and interactive tools handle stuckness inline. It also adds an opt-in EAL on / EAL off flag for clearer explanations and key-term support without lowering the academic level or rewriting student work.
v4.3.0 — Tiered output for long review tools
Site package: v4.3.0
Prompt libraries: v4.3.0
Testing/audit pack: v4.3.0
This release adds summary-first, expandable output to selected long review tools: ST1, ST2, ST3, AT7 and AT9. These tools now analyse the whole input before choosing priorities, show a short usable first response, and produce fuller detail when the student asks to expand. WT4 remains ungated: it still shows every in-scope mistake, now with a short first-focus note before the full list.
v4.2.1 — WT4 answer-boundary patch
Site package: v4.2.1
Prompt libraries: v4.2.1
Testing/audit pack: v4.2.1
This narrow patch keeps WT4 — Find My Mistakes inside its writing-mistake role. It removes broad fact-checking/source-checking drift and updates the audit pack so WT4 outputs are marked down if they become specialist subject-answering, source-checking, evidence-checking or citation-substance services.
v4.2 — Writing Tutor router, flow and subject tools
Site package: v4.2
Prompt libraries: v4.2
Testing/audit pack: v4.2
This release adds WT1 — Which Writing Tool Should I Use?, renumbers the Writing Tutor family, adds WT9 Flow and Coherence and WT10 Learn Subjects, and updates testing/audit and site pages to match the v4.2 tool map.
v4.1 — WT7 paraphrase and quotation workshop
Site package: v4.1
Prompt libraries: v4.1
Testing/audit pack: v4.1
This release adds WT7 to the Writing Tutor family for paraphrase, quotation, attribution and reporting-verb coaching. It rebuilds master, mini, custom and single-tool prompt-library downloads and updates the testing/audit pack with WT7 source-use cards.
v4.0 — Consolidation, generated packs and testing update
Site package: v4.0
Prompt libraries: v4.0
Testing/audit pack: v4.0
This release consolidates the prompt-library source around the default teaching loop, updates tool behaviour across the writing, structure, academic-thinking, research-proposal and study-workflow tools, rebuilds master, mini, custom and single-tool downloads, and updates the testing/audit pack with the output collector and v4 regression checks.
v3.12 — Single-tool download directory
Site package: v3.12
Prompt libraries: v3.6
Testing/audit pack: v3.5
This site-only release adds a single-tool downloads page for students using free-tier AI tools or platforms with small upload limits. It links to the generated individual Markdown tool files and the all-single-tools ZIP, without changing tutor prompt source files or generator scripts.
v3.11 — AI-literacy guidance, library sync and testing-pack hygiene
Site package: v3.11
Prompt libraries: v3.5
Testing/audit pack: v3.5
This release adds Student Help and Guides content on repeated whole-project use, AI imperfection and transferable AI-literacy skills. It also synchronises the master prompt library with the mini-libraries and updates the step-by-step test cards so they no longer point to a stale audit-prompt filename.
v3.10 — Tutor guidance and Examples page update
Site package: v3.10
Prompt libraries: v3.4
Testing/audit pack: v3.4
This site-only release reorganises the tutor and teacher guide, adds safe suggested wording for recommending the toolkit to students, adds guidance that students can disagree with AI feedback, simplifies the Examples page to one unedited real-world WT1 response, and moves the “Choosing and setting up an AI” guide up one position on the Guides page.
v3.9 — Student Help structure fix
Site package: v3.9
Prompt libraries: v3.4
Testing/audit pack: v3.4
This site-only release restores the main Student guide at students.html and moves the AI setup guidance to a separate Student AI setup guide. The Student Help home page now introduces the main Student guide as “What this is and how to get started.”
v3.8 — AI setup and student setup guidance
Site package: v3.8
Prompt libraries: v3.4
Testing/audit pack: v3.4
This site-only release replaces the placeholder setup page with a tutor guide on choosing and setting up an AI system, including access, model/mode choice, free-plan limits, Projects/workspaces and shared custom AIs. It also simplifies the Student guide so it focuses on experimenting with available AI systems, using thinking/reasoning modes where available, managing free-plan usage, and optionally using Projects or workspaces.
v3.7 — Teaching approach and Student guide rewrite
Site package: v3.7
Prompt libraries: v3.4
Testing/audit pack: v3.4
This site-only release rewrites the Teaching approach page around writing as thinking, ideas first, manageable feedback, “I’m stuck” support and development rather than completion. It also rewrites the Student guide in a more direct paragraph-first style, with clearer benefits, getting-started guidance, pushback advice and privacy/responsibility notes.
v3.6 — Student guidance, pushback and WT1 option reminder
Site package: v3.6
Prompt libraries: v3.4
Testing/audit pack: v3.4
This release revises the Student guide into a more paragraph-first reading page, adds guidance that students should push back when AI feedback seems wrong, adds global prompt rules for student correction and specialist uncertainty, and strengthens WT1 so the first response keeps the “ask for more options” escape route.
v3.5 — Launcher minimum content and paragraph-first site design
Site package: v3.5
Prompt libraries: v3.3
Testing/audit pack: v3.3
This release strengthens launcher minimum-content rules so AI models should not compress menus down to tool lists. It adds testing/audit checks for launcher minimum content, adds a paragraph-first design rationale to the Teaching approach page, and cleans up the Tools and Examples pages to better match the v3 reading-first design.
v3.4 — Startup activation and launcher fidelity
Site package: v3.4
Prompt libraries: v3.2
Testing/audit pack: v3.2
This release strengthens startup behaviour and menu fidelity. Prompt libraries now state that the launcher is the only source for menu output, while the manifest and router are internal sections not for output. Selected-tool headings now show the visible prompt-library version, and the site shows the current prompt-library version near downloads.
v3.3 — Startup activation and launcher maintenance
This release updates prompt libraries to v3.1 and testing/audit pack to v3.1. It adds explicit startup activation instructions so uploaded libraries activate as tutor instructions rather than being summarised. It also simplifies launcher menus, removes horizontal divider clutter, tightens selected-tool start prompts, and updates WT1 to use a paragraph-first teaching response with deferred options.
Site v3.3 — testing/audit v3 alignment
Site package: v3.2
Prompt libraries: v3.0
Testing/audit pack: v3.0
Updated the testing/audit pack to check the v3 prompt-library behaviours: paragraph-first tutor style, manageable feedback, writing as thinking, plain-English grammar explanations and “I’m stuck” support.
